Everything’s Coming Up Roses

Twelve Stateside Foods volunteers, teamed up with local community group, Friends of Westhoughton Station, to clear and replant the flowerbeds at Westhoughton Train Station. The station has recently suffered terrible acts of vandalism in October 2014 and again in January 2015, when ornaments were smashed and left scattered on the railway line and plants were uprooted.

The group worked hard over two days in March, clearing the banking.  Scrap wood, bracken and bricks were removed from the area and roses and laurels, donated by Stateside Foods, were planted in their place.

Neil Brown, Commercial Manager said, “It was very fulfilling and worthwhile work, and having since gone back, you can now really see the benefit”.

The team worked together and did a fantastic job and we are very proud of them – well done guys!
