CMI Higher Education Conference

The CMI Higher Education Conference took place on Tuesday 21st February at the Pullman Hotel in London.

Being one of only a handful of Universities in the country that have started offering the option of a degree as an apprenticeship, Manchester Metroploitan University were asked to attend the conference to raise awareness of degree apprenticeships to other Universities.

After seeing our apprentice, Lukas Hughes speaking to students at their careers event and representing Stateside Foods, Manchester Metropolitan University asked if Lukas would attend the CMI conference in London to represent both Stateside Foods and Manchester Met. in sharing his experience of studying for a Degree Apprenticeship.

Keith Richardson, Head of Higher Education Partnership Development said after the event, “The conference was an outstanding success and a key element of this was through our panel members such as Lukas . The input he provided in the both panel session and Q&A was confident, authoritative and informative, clearly demonstrating the calibre of individual involved in the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship. Post conference I have received number of comments suggesting the apprentices stole the show! Your organisation should be extremely proud of how Lukas represented you in such a positive manner.”

Professor Julia Clarke, Pro-Vice Chancellor & Dean of Faculty of Business and Law at Manchester Metropolitan University expressed her gratitude to Lukas , “Thank you again for your excellent contribution to the CMI Conference on Tuesday.  You provided some great insights and were a fantastic ambassador for both Manchester Metropolitan University and your company.  In particular, it was great to hear about how you appreciated the interactive approach to learning on the programme and the ways that you were applying your learning in your work.  Definitely making the case for apprenticeships boosting productivity there!”
