Our People

Our people are treated with dignity, ensuring each individual has a voice.  We run a number of initiatives to ensure their voice is heard.  We encourage our people to take part in our Employee Engagement survey which is open to all and enables them to make changes to working conditions where required. Every month we hold an Employee Open Forum where champions represent each area of the business over different shifts.  This gives employees the opportunity to raise any issues or concerns they have.  All questions, concerns or issues from employees are answered or addressed

We encourage our people to take part in our Employee Suggestion Scheme.  This is where employees submit business improvement suggestions.  A winner is selected each month receiving a monetary prize, at the end of the year an overall winner is chosen.  Even if a suggestion is not chosen at the winner of the month it is the objective of the business to ensure that all suggestions are responded to.  Finally we ensure our people are recognised for their hard work and dedication to the business with our Employee of the Month scheme.  Employees nominate each other for this award.  A winner is selected each month and an overall winner is selected each year.  All winners receive a monetary prize.

As part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of talent, for the last 10 years, we have been running apprenticeship schemes at various levels up to and including degree level.  These apprenticeships are fully funded.

Our apprentice opportunities are vast and cover all aspects of the business from Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounts to Product Development and Technical.

Stateside Foods prides itself on our supply base ensuring that our suppliers share the same principles as us in terms of quality, customer service, food safety, continuous improvement, ethical trading and innovation

Since 2008 Stateside has been a committed member of the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX).  Sedex are a non-profit membership organisation allowing the sharing of sourcing data on supply chains.  We have also successfully completed a number of SMETA audits (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit).  Furthermore we follow the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code. The ETI is based on the Standards of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) working to stop inadequate working conditions across the world.

Furthermore we also encourage our supply base to be signed up to Sedex and ETI; currently 85% of our suppliers are members of these schemes and we are actively working with our suppliers to get this figure to 100%
