Engineering Apprenticeships

As part of our commitment to supporting the next generation of talent, we are seeking apprentices to join us in a number of business critical areas across our site in Bolton.

 

The Apprentice Scheme is designed to give you the opportunity to gain real experience within a vibrant and busy production environment. You will work in key areas of the business whilst working towards your engineering qualification and earning a competitive salary. The overall goal will be for you to gain knowledge and leadership skills to be able to deliver future business objectives and ensure excellent product standards that will continue to exceed our customers’ expectations.

 

On our four year Apprenticeship Scheme, you will have the opportunity to qualify as an Engineer with Waterside College, whilst working alongside a strong and experienced Engineering Team

Entry Criteria

For admittance to the apprenticeship programme Waterside College will need you to demonstrate the following criteria:
• You will have (or hope to achieve) at least 5 GCSE’s at Grades A-C/9-6 in Maths, English, Science and two other technology based subjects (i.e. Design Technology, Electronics, Design Graphics, Resistant Materials) or equivalent AS or A Level qualifications.
• You must have a genuine interest in Scientific, Technical, Manufacturing and Engineering related career.

The information listed above is an overview of the academic content of the programme that will take the form of either core or option modules. Modules are designated as core or option in accordance with professional body requirements and internal Academic Framework review, so may be subject to change. Apprentices will be required to undertake modules that the University designates as core and will have a choice of designated option modules. Additionally, option modules may be offered subject to meeting minimum student numbers.

GCSE: 5 subjects at C/4 or above including Maths and English or equivalent.
BTEC Extended Diploma: Distinction, Merit, Merit and (must include Maths Unit)
Pass Access Course: 112 UCAS points
A typical offer is 112 UCAS points including Maths and Physics at a C or STEM at a C
